A cracking shot of an iconic British loco. The Brush Class 31. The "skinhead" 31's (no rooftop headcode panel) , in fact the Class 31's in general are a dying breed, mainly used on test trains from Derby nowadays and mostly painted in Network Rail yellow. (31106 is one of two in old BR Blue) 31190 is in original, or near as dammit BR Green from the 60's and looks wonderful. The class is due to be phased out within the next 12 months which will be a sad loss to the network. Once a class of well over 200 in number there are only 8 in regular use as well as many preserved across heritage railways UK wide. An iconic shot Cityflyer that will soon be a thing of the past.

Didn't think these were still running. I remember them as a lad in BR green. In those days they where known as Brush Type 2's, with serial numbers begining with the letter D. Found this clip of 31106 operating in Cheshire back in July this year. About four minutes in there's an A320 providing a fitting period background noise similar to that of a Viscount.
