We enjoyed Christmas with our daughter in Bournemouth and had a great time. Good pub food, Great Beer, Cornish Pasties, Curries, Christmas carols, family time. Pity the traffic is so intense on the South coast and i think there are more traffic signals than miles of road. I managed to stay on the right (left) side of the road, unlike a previous visit. Goodness, how Continental i have become. Let down by our lads in Australia but at least Liverpool FC kept the race going.
Only downside was the weather. Ten days of end to end cloud wind and rain.
Departed Poole with Brittany ferries this morning. Took a cabin and emerged about half an hour before docking at Cherbourg, to see blue sky with bits of white cumulous. So it was, all the way back to Paradise in The Vendee.
Hope all on this Forum had a nice time and look forward to a good New Year's Eve and 2014.
Ron

You UK residents have got three weeks from today to sort the weather out, before I arrive in Manchester for a weeks visit.
Cold and wetness is not acceptable.

Somehow, this winter the UK media seem to have forgotten that cold, wet and windy is the 'default' weather for the British Winter season.
"Buspilot", I suggest cold, wet and windy is just going to have to be acceptable, unless you reschedule your trip for May to September when cool, wet and breezy become more probable rather than certain!
Whatever the weather, hope you enjoy your trip 'home' and have a good time. Brian.

If you can get me the extra baggage allowance on easyJet for free, I might give it a try.
