Phew! That was a marathon, but I've now found and restored all of the missing images. Proper credits to the photographers (where known) have been added. Some of the images were the originals as first sent to me, so many of these needed work in photoshop, etc to restore their colour and remove blemishes. There are still some more to be done, i.e. the most recent post of 'marquis' 1987 images.
It's best that I don't voice my recent thoughts about the former "tinypic" host!
With the thread now restored and active again, I'll be adding some fresh images, and if anyone else has some, they will be greatly appreciated.

My very many thanks to 'Acklington' for his dedication and effort. I, for one, am delighted that this thread has not only been restored but added to, too. Having restored to view a great number of threads that come under the 'banner' of "nostalgia", which are well visited and re-visited both by members and those on a Google search, I know just how much work goes into locating, improving, uploading to host, downloading to NWAN, improving captions etc etc is required. There are still major threads I need to re-visit, but there are only so many hours in a day - I'll get there though eventually as it is a project in progress. Like this one was, if you are looking at a thread and are frustrated by the number of obscured images, left me know by PM and I'll see if anything can be done.
In the nine and a half years since first started, this thread has attracted 14,450 views and this number will continue to grow again.
Again, on behalf of the NWAN members a very big 'thank you' to 'Acklington'
Brian.

Thanks Brian, comments much appreciated. Now for some 'new' images to add to the thread, although I'm sure that I've posted some of them before - but not on the Jurby thread. These photos were all taken by Stan Basnett who used to be the Island's Surveyor General and then Director of the Highways Department. A keen transport/vehicle enthusiast, he always had his camera handy. The photos are not dated, nor have registrations/serials attached, but many of them can be tied in to the Jurby Air Displays already illustrated on this thread. However, some are clearly much earlier, going back to the 1960s. 69-5820, KC-130H, Jurby, 1982 photo Stan Basnett (1) fw by Philip Pain, on Flickr 69-5820, KC-130H, Jurby, 1982 photo Stan Basnett (2) w by Philip Pain, on Flickr D-E-OW, 82, Jurby maybe, photo Stan Basnett fw by Philip Pain, on Flickr German registration ending in 'OW', and with a race number it was presumably one of the Air Races at Jurby. G-AWWU, 34, Jurby maybe, photo Stan Basnett fw by Philip Pain, on Flickr Similarly, this Cessna 172 has a race number. G-ABMR, Jurby, May 1970 photo Stan Basnett w by Philip Pain, on Flickr Gives me shudders to think that this historic Hawker Hart biplane was sent across the Irish Sea! G-ADDI, G-ASAB, G-ABVE, Jurby, May 1965 photo Stan Basnett w by Philip Pain, on Flickr And this Dragon, but at least it has two engines. G-AGWB, 58, Flt Lt A Turley, Winner 1965 Manx Air Derby, Jurby, 29 May 1965 photo Stan Basnett w by Philip Pain, on Flickr I did research this Proctor III, so this was it winning the 1965 Manx Air Derby, flown by Flt Lt A Turley. G-ASAM, G-ASBD, Jurby, May 1965 photo Stan Basnett w by Philip Pain, on Flickr G-ASDO, Flight Magazine, Jurby, May 1965 photo Stan Basnett w by Philip Pain, on Flickr Well known at the time, "Flight" Magazine's Baron, with prominent Jurby buildings. This aircraft was usually flown by Douglas Bader, and he is recorded as being at some Manx Air Races. G-ASKP (N6588), Jurby, May 1965 photo Stan Basnett w by Philip Pain, on Flickr G-AYIT (NL896, F-BGEZ), Jurby, c 1975 photo Stan Basnett w by Philip Pain, on Flickr G-BEDF, Jurby photo Stan Basnett (2) fw by Philip Pain, on Flickr G-BEDF, Jurby photo Stan Basnett (3) fw by Philip Pain, on Flickr G-BEDF, Jurby photo Stan Basnett fw by Philip Pain, on Flickr This is "Sally B" in its early colours, and lacking gun turrets. G-BEDF, PA474, IOM, c 1975 photo Stan Basnett w by Philip Pain, on Flickr In contrast, this photo taken at Ronaldsway shows its second creation, together with Lancaster PA474 behind. Harvard, Jurby, photo Stan Basnett fw by Philip Pain, on Flickr This was Liverpool based with Keenair, and apologies for not remembering its registration off hand! Jurby Control Tower, Manx Air Rally, May 1970 photo Stan Basnett w by Philip Pain, on Flickr Classic Stan Basnett photo, with the cream of Ronaldsway's emergency vehicles. Jurby, Manx Air Rally, May 1970 photo Stan Basnett w by Philip Pain, on Flickr This interior view of the Jurby WW2 Control Tower is clearly a race event with various officials. Of more historic interest it shows the ATC desk and other equipment still in place. They were stripped out circa 1974. PZ865, Jurby photo Stan Basnett fw by Philip Pain, on Flickr Red Arrows, Gnats, Jurby maybe, photo Stan Basnett fw by Philip Pain, on Flickr Those are Gnats, which dates this photo before circa 1972. RR299, Jurby, photo Stan Basnett (1) fw by Philip Pain, on Flickr RR299, Jurby, photo Stan Basnett (2) fw by Philip Pain, on Flickr BAe Mosquito (or HSA), and that's a Manx hill in the background. Vulcan B2, 50 Sqdn, Jurby, photo Stan Basnett fw by Philip Pain, on Flickr There are two separate Vulcan sets of photos, neither with a readable registration. However, the 50 Sqdn badge is visible on both, so this was when the Vulcan was still in squadron service. XV201, Jurby, c 1975 photo Stan Basnett w by Philip Pain, on Flickr XV201, Jurby, photo Stan Basnett (2) fw by Philip Pain, on Flickr XV240, Jurby photo Stan Basnett (1) fw by Philip Pain, on Flickr XV240, Jurby photo Stan Basnett (2) fw by Philip Pain, on Flickr XV240, Jurby photo Stan Basnett (3) fw by Philip Pain, on Flickr XX---, 4 FTS, Jurby photo Stan Basnett fw by Philip Pain, on Flickr No identity visible but I like this photos of a Hawk pulling 'G' and streaming vortices. That's an Irish Sea effect! That's it, but I will try to link these photos to the earlier info on this thread.

Hard to know where best to start adding new images to this thread, so I'll start with some random and stand-alone events. It was purely coincidental that I happened to be at Jurby on 26th September 1993, not for any aviation reason, but did have my camera handy. There were calls of "What the F---!" as this cruised into view; ZS-SAO, from-to Mchr, travel agents, Jurby, 26 Sept 93 (1) fw by Philip Pain, on Flickr Glad in a way that I didn't have the big lens, as I hastily opted to get as many as possible of the distinctive Jurby buildings into the frame. ZS-SAO, from-to Mchr, travel agents, Jurby, 26 Sept 93 (2) fw by Philip Pain, on Flickr The AAC hangar that housed the prototype but never flown airship G-MAAC. ZS-SAO, from-to Mchr, travel agents, Jurby, 26 Sept 93 (3) fw by Philip Pain, on Flickr Jurby Church, with its war graves, overlooking the airfield. ZS-SAO, from-to Mchr, travel agents, Jurby, 26 Sept 93 (4) fw by Philip Pain, on Flickr And the wartime Watch Office, then somewhat uncared for, but since listed and preserved. Ronaldsway ATC told me that this South African Airways 747 was out of Manchester, and also did a pass at the airport. So next day I phoned Manchester handling and got the registration ZS-SAO. It contained a load of travel agents on a jolly.

Thirteen images of the same aircraft!? Taken at Jurby on 27th October 1993. You'll need to look closely at them to see what's happening. Jurby runway is exactly one mile from the western coastline, 50 foot above sea level, and we could hear the aircraft approaching but couldn't see it! A superb article on the history of Jurby, and the pictures are great.I flew there in G-BCBY from Prestwick in 1986-I had a great day, from what I remember the weather was so so,and the display was good.I have a question, the Leopard moth G-ACLL left the island on a low loader, but returned shortly after having been to the south of England for potential return to flying. What happened to it,and where is it now.

Sorry for the late reply. I was told the same as you, that it left by road and sea, but returned with no work having taken place. Perhaps too expensive a project for the owner? We assume that it remains stored somewhere on the Island, but it is not in any of the airfield premises.

As promised, here are some more images taken at Jurby. This time showing the whole of the RAFA display on 11th August 1991. A few of these images have appeared earlier on the Jurby thread, but I'm repeating them here for completeness. The weather was great for photos, but the participants were mainly the usual suspects, although with some interesting light aircraft participants. An excellent collection of photos and thanks for sharing them. A great location for an air show.
I particularly like the ones of the JP, low level over the runway.
As for the Comanche, N26634. This was based at Atlantic Air Park for a while, being owned by one of my neighbours. I flew it a couple of times and flew in it, many times. Thankfully I was not in it, in 2015, when it suffered engine failure after take off and put down in a field. It is unlikely it ever flew again.
