The European Commission are investigating reports that a number of Apple iPod and iPhone Touch Devices have exploded. Following reports one from an 11 year old Liverpool girl who stated her iPod "hissed" before it exploded Apple said they know of the porblem but they are isolated incidents and are waiting for affected units to be returned. I wonder if an isolated unit exploding on an airliner would make them move faster There is no mention of Airlines or travellers (no not that type) being warned. I went to apple web site and can`t find any information about this which is odd. My source is a reputable computer magazine. Anyone got one

There was an article in the Liverpool Echo about this a few weeks ago.
A childs Ipod allegedly began to make strange noises, the father threw it into the garden, where it allegedly exploded with something like a ten foot flame.
I think that the Liverpool solicitor E. Rex Makin is now acting for the family.
Makes you thing twice about tucking it into the front of your shorts in the gym!!!

Sorry if I was behind the times with this post but I don`t get the Echo and didn`t see the news reports until the one I posted from my Computer mag. It still hasn`t mentioned any concerns in any report I can find about air travel, which I would have thought would be high on the list of priorities, given the resulting effect a failure could have at high altitude , the number of people walking round with one attached to their ear on public transport and sitting in departure lounges is huge ? Good ol Rex Makin his firm never misses an opportunity, nor do "highly traumatised scousers"
