Firstly apologies for the late posting – Had a trip over to Belfast last week with my son for the day courtesy of Ryanair’s £1 each way fares. Departed from Liverpool on EI-DWE and returned on EI-DWD, bit of a bumpy flight both ways due the high winds over the UK, but overall a fun day wit a bit of spotting included.
Noted at Liverpool on departure were the following:-
EZAM, EZEK, EZDU, EZBB, PH-KZC, JMMX, CFLU, HCSL, TC-OAF, EI-DWE, EI-DYE, EI-DHK.
On arrival at Belfast City noted between 11:55 and 12:10
ECOI, ECOW, LGNN, EI-DWE
Then from 4:00 until our departure at 8:25
FLBB, FBEA, FBEG, ECOA, ECOI, ECOR, ECOW, ECOZ, JEDR, MIDO, DBCF, DBCE, EI-DWE, DHD, DWD, DYC, REP.
G-MLTY, OK-TCA
On the ground at Liverpool were
EI-DCL, DWD, PH-WXC
Found Belfast City to be a lot like Liverpool in relation to the amount of movements, which are mainly focused on Flybe. There seems to be a great deal of building work going on in the terminal, but you do get excellent views from the café on the upper level once you pass security and it never became busy due to the majority of passengers staying downstairs in the bars next to duty free.
There is also an ikea right next to the airport, but not sure if you can get views of the airfield from it and during the quiet hours in the afternoon a £3.00 ticket will get you a return to the city centre.
Cheers, Steve
