Nice pictures BA79. I used to enjoy wandering around there. Almost bought a house on that nearby new development once. So the bridge will be going across near the end of what is currently the end of the mooring area on the canal?

So the bridge will be going across near the end of what is currently the end of the mooring area on the canal? The plans I have seen show the new bridge to pass over this section of canal (1st Photo) but at what height I have no idea. My intention is to visit about once a month to Spike and take photo's of the progress also if possible to go up to the Observation Tower in the Catalyst Museum and see the progress in the river as regards building the coffers for the Main Supports to be built inside. blueaircraft79 (Peter)

Nice hoarding at Picture 2.I notice there is no evidence of the dreaded toll-booths.When will the supine British motoring public rise up and say "No"? I mean it's not as though "they" haven't already extracted more than enough money from motoring taxation to pay for the bridge
Up in Scotland last week was a revelation.Outside the big cities no parking charges,no tolls on bridges-wonderful.Here grab, grab ,grab.

I pointed out to the "authorities" during the planning stages that the River Mersey will be toll paying from the mouth to Warrington. What does this do for the economy of the region? Nothing - in fact it puts business off. Did I get a response? I'm still waiting. What surprises me is that the local authorities did not protest this point.
