Peter
Some great shots by you. You obviously had a prime position. Not bored at all.
I was in Birchfield Road, Widnes, when I saw the cyclists. I was amazed at just how many support vehicles where with them. With the outriders, police and ambulance vehicles there was probably more than them.
Regards
Bill

Bill Thanks for the comment on the photo's as you say the support team was more than likely bigger than the cycle racers. I didn't log all the photo's of the vehicles as they would have added about another 20 photo's to the list. I had a nice position stood next to a rather lovely blonde PSO who was quite chatty , as soon as she had a report on her radio she told us right away what was going on and we were ready for the start over the bridge as it was, I think the first police motorcycle over was doing far in excess of the speed limit. Great photos, Peter. They showed the race on one of the C4 channels to-night. It went from Knowsley to top of Kingsway in Widnes and then jumped to some where in North Wales giving Runcorn a miss. Very good local coverage, I think not. Regards Beemer.

Brian, We couldn't understand at first how they got onto the bridge after coming along Moor Lane , we have now found out that at the roundabout in Moor Lane they went round the wrong way and went up the slip road that comes off Route7 and used it as a hairpin bend to get on to the approach for the bridge. Ref your comment I to noticed they missed out Runcorn on the TV. Thanks to all for the comments and PM's I have received regarding the photo's Peter
