From the Liverpool Echo dated Thursday 12 April 1990, a reader wrote that on the night of Tuesday 27 March 1990 at 8pm he was traveling up Arkles Lane towards Oakfield Rd when he saw what looked like a large aircraft going from left to right, it had a white light to the rear and a red flashing one about midway, it appeared to be at a virtual standstill making no noise, he estimated the height to be about 300 feet, there was also a woman in Arkles Lane looking up at it, two other people that he spoke to in Belmomt Rd also saw it, they commented on the lack of noise, the aircraft disappeared towards Newsham Park.
Later that same night, two people I know were returning to Liverpool along the M62 from Warrington, at Burtonwood they saw what looked like a cigar shaped object in the sky ahead of them moving slowly. Has anyone else heard of this sighting ?
