It is getting beyond a joke the amount of rubbish that is being dumped on the mound these days and no one seems to be taking any steps to stop it. In the past we have had general household waste, garden waste, lorry loads of building and house clearance materials, including on one occasion five fridge freezers. We have seen big Transit vans going back and to, some on legitimate business but some dumping old carpets and off cuts from new lays. It is the latest that has me concerned the most. Cannabis manufacturing materials or hydroponic equipment. If the police pulled you up carrying this amount you would be fined or cautioned. Weed by brianl_thompson74, on Flickr ...yet vans are driving down Dungeon Lane unseen and dumping all this stuff. Weed by brianl_thompson74, on Flickr All the waste from cannabis production and they get away with it. They even leave some samples for the children to poison themselves with. Weed by brianl_thompson74, on Flickr Some thing needs to be done whether it be cameras, more security or more policing. Most days when we are there we see police passing by but yesterday there were none.

Beemer, I respectfully suggest that you forward those pictures to the police, the local council and also someone in Peel* (maybe Robin Tudor). My biggest worry with this (apart from the obvious one), would be that the authorities could use the fly tipping as an excuse to close the area off altogether.
* I know Peel aren't responsible for that area, but if the media get hold of it, it won't reflect well on the airport and I think he'd want to know about it.

One of the problems with fly tipping especially on Wirral land is that the local tip and council introduced a licence and fee for Van users which took in contractors like plumbers electricians and carpet fitters especially. It was and still is leveled was at £80 that fee made some think it was cheaper to fly tip as chances of being caught are slim. I have this discussion with numerous contractors my company employs, carpet fitters which are usually sub contracted are some of the worst and I can not understand why the £80 isn`t paid and recouped from customers in the charge for laying the carpet it would add only pennies to each job.

Probably can't get out of the car without site visit by health and safety then full risk assessment needs to de done........easier to chase motorists

Comments like the last two are pretty unnecessary really, or did you expect the officers cleaned up any rubbish laying around.
