I had news tthis morning that 4-5 scum bags drove through the gates at RAF Woodvalle last night Friday/Saturday morning, and attacked the Police Helicopter with petrol with the intention of fire bombing it Some have been detained (so probably a nasty smack on the wrist will be coming) and one escaped. I bet some serious security breaches need closing now How the heck was this able to happen on an RAF Station to Police equipment

What you have to ask is; what serious crime was being committed at the time of the incident that these scam bags were so desperate to keep it on the ground for?
There could be a red herring here, as it sounds more like an attempt to keep it on the ground rather than destroy it. Would only have taken seconds to ignite the fuel but it could not take off for some time for risk of explosion.

It has happened previously at JLA!!
They smashed through the barrier where the mail vans went in and attacked it with baseball bats if I remember correctly.

If the Police can not keep their own valuable stuff safe what chance does the public have. I wonder if these morons saw the similar attack on YOU Tube when about 15 gypsies travellers or whatever they call themselves, held a police air support officer hostage and did about £1.5m damage to the aircraft. NO DETERRANTS, NO JUSTICE AND NO FEAR OF PUNISHMENT ANY MORE that`s the problem. I wonder of they could be charged under the current anti terrorist laws for breaking into a military establishment with intent to cause an explosion (ie fire bombing an aircraft) ?

Have we NO political parties out there capable of saying we WILL stop the rot. Its time for a change in our political thinking but do we have to have more of the same? What about car crushing for these yobs+the uninsured when caught +drivers caught when banned + drunk+on drugs? It is a good way of reducing our carbon footprint and is at least some form of deterrant. Why not build bigger better less accessible prisons in areas where the employment generated would make a difference and the prisoners may not like to be sent|? The first duty of the state is the protection of its citizens-- perhaps we can find a political party that believes that the British people need to be held in higher regard than at present. Scallys cease to be colourful and amusing when its our car they steal and our homes they vandalise and when our kids cannot play in the streets out of fear. It CAN be solved and the perpetrators of crime CAN be deterred if we have the political will to do it. No one seems to want to stand up and be counted-- we get the officers we can afford and the politicians we deserve--or so I was told when I was a councillor. There MUST be a better way than this--the fight back starts at the ballot box--if only we had a proper choice.

Hi John, I take it you mean crushing the yobs..which would be a good idea. Pity to crush the cars, they may be worth a bob or two!
I totally agree. its time to make punishment fit the crime. Make it a real deterrent. It can be economically viable too. Just think of all the building trades that could be put to work in making new prisons. (Less builders on the dole.) Just think of how many people could be employed as guards. In fact the families of those incarcerated could be made to pay B&B charges for the offenders. This might actually bring about some parental control in the first place. Once you begin to think about it, to have the will as you say, the possibilities are endless.
Actually, in spite of my remark earlier about crushing offenders, maybe we should just restrict to crushing their goolies. I am against capital punishment. Not because i don't believe that offenders deserve it, but that I have absolutely no faith in our judicial systems to actually get to the truth.

Actually Ron the power the confiscate and crush the car does exist now and is used on quite a large scale already. The problem is it doesn`t effect the yobs who will steal your car and you wont that crushed if the theives don`t wreck it before you get it back that is. Crushing the offenders is far more preferable anyway. The main point of this attack is it happend on a supposedly secure Military Base and as they managed to cause damage which grounded the machine I guess was successful. Which is should not have been. I would thnk military bases even "low" key places like RAF Woodvale should be guarded with armed patrols and dogs. Things like this just should not happen but if you dont have any fear of a severe punishment if caught and also no fear of a frightening time in prison in the unlikely event you get sent down in the first place how do the people get stopped. This Governement has seriously lost the plot on Law/Order/Justice and Punishment. It has far to much time for offenders civil liberties, human rights to put prevention at the top of its list.

No I am not advocating a return to capital punishment --as they still have in president Bananas USA. But I will always wonder why monsters like the Yorkshire ripper should still be on 3 meals a day and enjoy Xmas and watching the sun come up each day when the families of his victims have an eternal hell to live through each and every day. Not to mention the agony of his victims[ --I worked in Halifax at the time of his rampage. However all this is gettting us from the subject of basic protection for the citizens. This government has abjectly failed and the incoming government is going to fare no better unless WE make our feelings clear by ther ballot box. Time for a protest vote perhaps that would shake a few bars and get things noted. I can think of no other course other than to go live where these things seem distant and less important.

This subject has appeared on the Woodvale thread and it would appear that the incident took place at 10.45pm. Shortly afterward there was a major incident just of Princess Road, Toxteth. Police and Ambulance were in attendance on mass and the road at the side of the Nightingale Hotel was closed off and remained so for two days. Could this be related? I don't suppose we will ever know and I suppose neither will the Police but I suppose they will have their suspicion's.
