This is the title of a French film dealing with the subject of the illegal immigrants in and around Calais. Its a drama: a fiction: but entertaining. Went to see it last night. A lot of the dialogue is in English because that is mostly what the "clandestines" speak, so as a consequence, those who come into contact with them speak English too. A wake up call for several of my French friends think their language is the most important in the world. Its unusual to see a French film with French subtitles. Inevitably the hero of the film, a young Iraqui is very photogenic and likeable, but the film also deals with the hoards of riff raff hell bent on getting to England at any price and the problems they cause. The film gives a great insight into the attitudes of the French to the problem on their doorstep. Worth a viewing if you get the chance. RT
