Can't see that. It's been plastered in advertising campaigns all over the place, at least equal to Blue Air's publicity efforts. The lack of interest could be why the previous airline (not sure which one) abandoned the route. Having said that, I seem to recall it was very popular with britt's as a holiday/stag/hen party destination. If so, I wouldn't hold any breath for it lasting beyond the summer. Which would be a massive blow to the airport IMO Its two flights a week, Disappointing yes But a massive blow is an over-reaction IMO

Is there a degree of panic amongst our correspondents on the forum regarding this delay? Czech announced a raft of routes earlier in the year and now the Liverpool launch is being put back - but only from May to June. Did they overstretch themselves initially and are now ensuring that the launch is done properly? We don't know, so don't have reason to panic. Let the experts get on with their job and welcome them when the launch happens. We can don sack-cloth and ashes later if it fails but not before it even gets off the ground.

It never ceases to amaze how certain correspondents on this forum get in such a panic when anyone posts anything outside the 'party' line.
Fact: CSA Czech and the Airport have jointly 'launched' this route only in the past few days, although it has been known to some for a while and some advance advertising initiated.
Fact: Amending the date of the 'inaugural' service, while not frequent, is certainly far from unknown and usually down to fleet (un)availability, overstretching of the sales team with too many launches together, delays in slots, licencing or finance (the later two not really applying in this case of an established operator). An initial two week delay is never going to make a difference to the viability of a route over a period of months, more an indication that the Airline really wants 'to get it right'.
Fact: Airlines change their pricing structure for services on a daily basis. The release of more seats per flight at a promotional discount is to be expected, rather than evidence of 'imminent failure' at the time of the official joint announcement of the the service.
Interpretation: The supporters of LJLA on this forum need to show much more confidence, just one post from a known (and brave) Manchester-centric member and it is as though mass murder has been committed. While many here pride themselves on promoting their Liverpool orientated spin on events they should be ready to answer a different interpretation, not descend into a blind panic and deep gloom when anything other than 'the party line' is posted.
Action: We need to return to fully supporting the Airport management team in marketing this new operator and connection and show some optimissim!

Well said viscount we seem to have to many doom watchers, let's wait and see but let's give them a chance before the knives come out There is nothing wrong with informed views on airlines, routes etc,but this speculation wether it proves to correct,or not,may actually put off people from booking,so lets stop this now,and wait and see what delvelops with this airline, and route, thanks.

I really hope this route is a success. The airport are, finally, on the right track in appointing a person to promote business at the customer level.
I have a very soft spot for The Czechs and Prague, having been involved in a start up business just after the communists were kicked out. It was a risk but it did well. I travelled the whole country of Czechoslovakia, off and on for 6 years, and made enough to buy my old but steadfast Cessna 172.
I took my family there several times, the first being in 1990. We all loved it. Over the years I bagged a chance or two to fly a Zlin.
One of my daughters has just returned from a long weekend there and is effervescent about the glorious city she returned to once more. Some of her photos are stunning and bring back great memories for me.
If the airline and the new employee can just emit a portion of this enthusiasm, it will be a great success.

I share your views about Prague, Ron, but what was once a quiet rather sophisticated city with decent food (even in Communist times), has now become something of an Eastern European Blackpool, with gangs of drunken Brits (and other nations) roaming the streets after dark and generally making a nuisance of themselves.
The city itself is very attractive, though I prefer Budapest if we're talking about that part of the world. One thing I would like to do would be to visit some of the other towns and cities in the Czech Republic, because in the days when I visited there regularly, visitors weren't allowed outside of Prague, except with a previously-arranged minder.
If CSA get their marketing right, they should do well on the route, because it's also an easy route into Slovakia and there are lots of Slovenes working in the UK. It's also close to southern Poland...

If you go during the week there are no problems from drunken brits and others, they are only there at weekends.

Info from another group,
LPL -Prague postponed until 26 June
Czech Airlines has postponed its planned launch at Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) by more than a month.
The carrier was due to begin a twice-weekly service between Liverpool and Prague on May 18, but it has put the launch back to June 26.
It will operate a one-off service over the Bank Holiday weekend of May 22-25, but will not start a full operation until later in June.

eye2eye5, don't be too harsh on G-PHIL, he actually brings much new information to the forum in his post and independent confirmation of what Vctr initially posted before a couple of nwan members went into meltdown.

I notice people moaning about prices with CSA, I think this is a trend when a new airline comes to Liverpool lately, people are too fast to compare new airlines to EZY, Ryanair and Wizz. CSA is not a low fares airline it is a national carrier their A319's have 122 seats compared to EZY's 156 and it can also offer things such as "comfort seats" (more leg room) which our low cost carriers cant because it is all about revenue making the most money on every seat, when you book with them you get a free hold bag upto 15kg which with the likes of Ryanair you'd pay a small fortune for, in comparison with the 'low cost' airlines prices are very similar if not less if you where to add all the extras you get with CSA. Maybe the reason they charge a little more is because you get more? There doesnt seem to be any additional fee's either! Goodluck to them!
