Ah yes, I remember those Jubilees thundering through Hest Bank station, near Carnforth. On the down line from Scotland they picked up water from the troughs just up the line and if you were unlucky, or lucky, depending upon your point of view, you would be showered with the overflow as we stood at the level crossing just before the station; our water sodden note books barely surviving the week. Great fun and oh to be a child in 1953. Ron

Nice to see locos, Its all DMU'S & EMU'S where I am!!!!! Your right there. Still take photos of the DMU's etc as they too will be gone one day and there will be lots of people wanting to see them in the future. It all helps to Bring's back memories no matter how old you are.

Just about a half a mile down the track is Vulcan Village where the Foundry used to be and on the gable end of the first house is a plaque. I think it must have been removed from the foundry wall prior to demolition and fixed on the house. I noticed it to-day in passing and took a photo.

Seen passing thru' Winwick heading towards Warrington this morning at 10:15hrs. were 70013, Oliver Cromwell in tandem with 30777 pulling two coaches. Got a photo of 70013 but the steam covered the second one.
