In the first set 1963 does anyone know what the event appears to be as lots of public walking around on the Hangar 1 and then GA apron??

The lots of public around No.1 hangar and access to the upper balcony level is almost certainly on the day of the Air Display, either in late May 1962 or in early June 1963 (depends on the publication date of the 1963 brochure which).
There is a thread elsewhere on this section that detail the aircraft at both of those displays.
I do know that member "FoLA" was looking for a decent pre-1962 shot of the main terminal entrance. The good, clear shot of the entrance is the newly reconstructed, rectangular overhang, glass swing doors version of winter 1961/62 that effectively lasted through to the terminal closure in 1986 - it is the original front(s) that served from construction 1939 through to late 1961 that is being sought-after.
The shot of laying concrete is interesting - I assume on the modified route of the taxiway off the apron to the 26 threshold.
Compared to the others, the Noratlas is a terrible shot even discounting the colour cast, there is a good clear sharp one of that aircraft with snow covered ground on the Noratlas thread elsewhere in this section.
The Aer Lingus BAC.111-200 departing 26 is interesting. I wonder if this was one of the handful of flights prior to May 1966, or if it was after the new, long runway was open. The photographer must have been somewhere out on the airfield to get that angle, looking towards Garston.
Thanks for copying and posting these, especially of the terminal interior as there are few enthusiast shots around. Good find.

Just to be pedantic, the picture 'Some Charming Air Hostesses' is wrongly titled. The ladies concerned worked on reception; I actually recognise two of them!
In the picture of the entrance area below it, you can just see a set of scales to the left of the Starways reception desk. On some flights, this was used to weigh the passengers as well as their bags!
That said, they are interesting photos, which I hadn't seen before.

An excellent contribution bringing back a few memories. The photo of the restaurant is particularly interesting, It disappeared so long ago, its easy to forget it ever existed.
The Liverpool 66 booklet was released at the time of the opening of the new runway (10/28) at the time. I had the same booklet once.

Reposting the Similar pictures but 3 or 4 years apart to show some modernisation of the reception area with a false ceiling and new lights, Improved bookstall and new TV monitors over the Info desk, However the 2nd pic is deceiving as a mirror or reflective glass by the entrance is duplicating the info desk. Looks like the same settee's though.

Thanks, Glad you enjoyed it, Ive just realised the Aer Lingus pics where taken from 'Welcome to Liverpool World Cup 1966' booklet which was designed for fans visiting the tournament and the five matches being held at Goodison Park, And yes the Liverpool 66 booklet (issue 3) is celebrating the opening of the new runway.

Seeing the Starways desk, next to W.H.Smith, reminds me of the day, approx. 1960, when I bought two return tickets to London Heathrow for £4. 10s each, (return.) On both trips we flew on G-AMZN. The tickets issued were hand written on pre printed thin bits of white paper. Not at all like the standard ICAO ones which came along a little bit later.
Yes, John, it might have been the bar where I was asked to confirm my age. I suppose, looking back, I should be satisfied as my apparent youthful appearance, has followed me through the years !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually far more likely a typo for G-AMSN which was a Starways Dakota.

Question for all here. I called in to the Marriott hotel earlier as I am thinking of booking a room there for my (say it quietly) 60th Birthday next year. Was talking to the various people in there and they were saying that they need some more pictures of the airport as it was to put on their loop display in the foyer. I naturally being a nerdy spotter started telling her about the old times etc of our spotting days in the old terminal. I showed her the pictures on this particular thread and she would love to have copies and put them on there loop and or have prints made. So question is ;
are these copyright and would anyone object to the hotel receiving the pictures by e mail?.
Also the hotel are looking for old photos, so lets dig out our old pictures . They are happy to scan them if we allowed them the use of prints. If anyone has any let me know any I will give you the e mail address to send them to.
Clive ( old but not obsolete, as an ageing Terminator recently said!)
