Hi, I am Off to Berlin in November.. not spotting i may add. I am off to see the Sights. Have any members been to Berlin, i am staying about 3/4 of a mile south east of the Zoo.. What is the best train route to get to this point.. The actual station closest to my hotel is Nollendorf Platz. do i get an underground train or surface train from the airport at Schonefeld....or a mixture of both. ? im flying with easyJet.
I think i may need to change trains...
Any ideas gang. Cheers

Berlin is an excellent spot for a short break. The railway station is a short walk from the terminal (there is a bus link to the station too, I think). I suggest you get the train as far as Warschauer Strasse - about four stops - and switch to the underground. There are at least three lines running from there to Nollendorf Platz.
The zoo itself is well worth a visit if you like that sort of thing. Geting around is pretty easy really - enjoy!

Don't forget to visit the Cafe Adler on the corner of Friedrichstrasse, it's unchanged since the days of the Berlin Wall, and very atmospheric. There's not much left of Checkpoint Charlie any more, but it's worth a wander around the area, and there is a museum to CPC nearby. Interesting city, but take plenty of €!
