I just wanted to start a thread to remember Sir Philip Carter, who sadly passed away last week. I'm sure many of you are fans of Everton Football Club, and you will have your own views and thoughts about him. I knew him as a pilot. He was a co-owner of the Piper PA-310 Navajo which when it first arrived in Liverpool was registered G-NWAC.
I was privileged to share many happy hours flying with him as he ferried Lady Harriet, and others to away games. If he could fly, he would.
He was a very competent pilot, a true gentleman, and just one of those people that you sometimes encounter in life that leaves an indelible impression.
I'm sure, as fellow aviators and enthusiasts, that you'll join me in offering condolences to Lady Harriet (Rita), his family and friends.

My contact with Sir Philip was also through flying as one of the co-owners with my business partner of Alpha Charlie and indeed the previous Aztec (BDHL). Your assessment of him certainly hits the mark - a real true gentleman. He will be sadly missed.

hi all I would just like to add to the sentiments regarding Sir Philip and His good Lady I am a red but had the pleasure of meeting Sir Philip and indeed flying with Him albeit as a passenger in His PA31 to Jersey to keep Lady Carter occupied as She did not like flying over water !!!!! The stories She told me of their adventures following EFC were really heartwarming ---- yes a true gentleman and loyal Evertonian but He would never walk past you on the ramp at LFS , people like Him do leave an indelible mark on you and I feel privileged to have had the chance to meet Him ,talk football with Him , fly with Him and share stories about Him with Lady Carter a true gentleman indeed !!!!
