Just to let members know that the A561 Speke Road (formerly known as the Ford Road) will be closed to traffic towards Runcorn for four days from 17th July (Friday to Monday). It will be closed at the former Crispie Factory site, that's the next junction after the Knowsley Expressway. You will probably be diverted towards Ditton Road so expect queues. Hope this helps. Regards Beemer.

I have just grabbed this from the Mersey Gateway site. There will be a total closure of the southbound A562 (Speke Road) from after 7pm on the evening of Friday 17 July to 5am on Monday 20 July for essential construction activity. A local diversion via Ditton Road will be in place. So the road will be open Friday during the day and all of Monday after 5am. So just Saturday and Sunday affected. Google maps have Speke Road as A561?

This will be so that they can join the new slip road down to the bridge roundabout onto the main carriageway - at least it means the new slip should be open soon !!!

I don't get these new on and off slip ramps. They appear to be in the same place as they were just new!
were they in such a bad state that they needed re building completely.
Also while on this thread there is a lot of construction near the A5300/A562 junction in the field to the left of junction. I can't see it being bridge related anyone any ideas?
