Is there a chance of a progress update? Not seen anything for a least a month.

Bill as you requested a few photos of the new Mersey Gateway bridge construction. Things are now beginning to move upwards with big tower cranes and heavy lifting equipment and starting to look more like a bridge. But the bridge is only half of it with new roads and road junctions being built. Brian
Very many thanks. I do look forward to seeing progress reports and your great pictures illustrate all very well. It certainly has moved on since I was there back in May.
Thanks again.

According to the Mersey Gateway website, the tower crane is not even at half of its intended height and will continue to grow with the progress of the works.

The bridge roadway will be 90 feet above the canal then you have the towers so the crane must be well over 200 feet high, I guess. This photo was taken to-day and shows the crane 1/2 as big again. Regards Beemer. Crane 12-07-2015 by tommoxxx, on Flickr

The building of the crane is a marvel in itself. I wonder if the crane driver will be a spotter

The building of the crane is a marvel in itself. I wonder if the crane driver will be a spotter Given its height and proximity to The Runcorn Bridge and the approach to 27, I imagine a NOTAM will have been issued for this.

For those wanting to follow the progress of the new bridge, Mersey Gateway has an excellent photo gallery on its website (link hopefully below!) www.merseygateway.co.uk/gallery/

Here are some photos I took yesterday of ongoing work at the Daresbury/Central Expressway Junction. They show the building of the concrete pillars that will support the elevated roadway that will lead to the new Mersey Gateway bridge. Brian The orange steel work which is wrapped around the towers is a small version of the one for the large towers on the riverside and the central tower. This at the moment is over the Widnes side waiting to be assembled and taken over to the coffer dam. Peter
