ZK559 should have been offloaded on Friday at Seaforth Docks, for onward delivery on Wednesday 2nd. Guessing therefore, that it's currently parked up and viewable from Cambridge Road like the others???
(Note - I have NOT been able to get along to confirm this yet - so don't shoot the messenger if I turn out wrong!)
Regards, Lee.

It is still there at 1500 hrs today (Monday) adjacent to the helipad.
Can be seen easily from Cambridge Road (the road down to Crosby marine lake).

Not actually easy to see, as the photo shows, there are numerous containers that block the view. Visible from the end of Cambridge Road, near where the rold continues to the lake car park.

Biggles, doubt that there is sch a thing as an ETD from Seaforth. Flying VFR, with no slots to keep, it will go once the mechanics re-rigging the rotors and un-inhibiting moving and sensitive parts have signed off and the crew kicked the tyres and counted the engines (as the old saying goes). Past experience give a clue as between 11 and 1.30, but the actual time will be whenever the crew are ready to go.

Am i right in thinking that it is a Boeing crew who fly it, not RAF for the ferry flight? I seem to recall reading that somewhere but i could be wrong. If that is the case i assume the Boeing crew are UK or Europe based and didn't travel all the way from the states?

It certainly appears that the new Chinook HC.6s are delivered out of Seaforth to Odiham by a Boeing crew. Whether they fly over every 4-6 weeks for the delivery, or whether they are working alongside the RAF at Odiham as the new aircraft are prepared to enter service, or indeed if they perform other duties around Europe for Boeing, I do not know. The earlier Chinooks for the RAF, going back to the 1980's were collected by RAF crews.

I imagine that, as part of the original deal, Boeing will have agreed to supply a product support team whose job it will be to prepare and test the aircraft before they are officially accepted. Usually they are based at the operator's base for a fixed period of time, sometimes for up to two years. Certainly during my time at BAe, our product support engineers would move (with their wives and families where applicable), to wherever the aircraft had been supplied.

Does anybody have a rough idea of delivery dates for the rest of them?
Thanks Iain

Chinook delivery is apparently to be expected every 4 to 6 weeks. This has been reflected in the deliveries through Liverpool so far.
