I saw on TV today a a Belgian newspaper has printed a list of 10 things to hate about Britain.
I wondered if one of those things was the willingness of us Brits to free our neighbours from tyranny? I know that was a long time ago, but this has been a special week for those involved.
Observations anyone!

Long lists and short memories I think Ron, unlike their Dutch neighbours..."lest we forget".
Maybe history taught in Belgian schools "forgets" the sacrifices made, would they have crossed the channel to fight for our liberation and freedom?
My old man joined a fledgling parachute regiment, jumped on 6th June and fought in France and the Ardennes.
He was 94 years young last weekend, still lives at home, tends his garden and trips around North Wales on his bus pass.
Can't really repeat his response to the Belgian article as it might upset our "PC" society!!!
Cheers,
GC

;D In the days before the thought police we used to tell Irish jokes-part of our tradition--well, the French tell Belgian jokes. I have brought the house down on many occasions here by transposing a Belge to an Irelandaise--even the old ones work.|LOL
Never mind, the Danes tell English jokes--perhaps the thought police should make a call.

A ship was in difficulty just off the belgian coast, so they put out a call. Mayday, Mayday, were are sinking. The message was repeated untl finally a third message.......we are sinking....please help us. The operator of the Belgian coastguard replied. "I can 'elp you, if you tell me vot you are sinking about.*
