Pity the registration has been missed off the repaint. The IL18 previously displayed was scrapped.

The information under the photo on his Flickr account is, A new monument at SVO is almost complete as seen on 25-May. On 4-Jun it was officially opened. Il-62M CCCP-86492 and then RA-86492 was operated by Aeroflot since 1981 till 1998 and served as a rescue training airframe later and till April 2015. The livery seen here is fully restored, less registration on the tail that was added later.

Hi everybody, Just an update to this post. I asked fellow photographer Sergey Kustov in Moscow to take another photo of the monument now it has been completed. He is a master of aircraft night shots and I knew it would be a good one when he got around to it ,work commitments and all.. so here it is. Wow ! The 62 is looking good dont you think ? Some seating has been placed underneath, cool spot to enjoy a coffee. |Il-62M CCCP-86492, 20-Nov-2015 by Sergey Kustov, on Flickr Pity the registration has been missed off the repaint.
