A6-EPD just crossed WAL (13-44) on return as EK 162 at FL330. Fortunately, a short trail and several gaps in the clouds actually allowed it to be seen. Paul D

Dave Sorry to sound totally dim, but what is P.M? Apart from that how are you keeping? Me being called a new member seems weird, having gone back to the old M.S.A.E days. Cheers. Paul.D

Paul,
On a forum site, PM = Private Message ie a message sent between members, but does not appear as a public post.
When you sign in, on the sections front page/index, at the base of the blue title banner, the right hand tab indicates 'messages'. Place your mouse arrow over this instruction, left click and you will get a list of your most recent PMs, newest at the top. Position your mouse over the 'subject' message title and left click to open and read the PM.
To reply to a PM, there is a message box open ready to type into below the message you are reading. Once complete, left click over 'Post Quick Reply'.
To initiate a PM, I usually find the 'user name' person I am sending to on a post somewhere around the forum, then left click over the user name. This brings up basic information about the member, one of the instructions top right in grey is 'send message', left click over, and you get a new window with an empty message box. When message is complete, lower right there is a grey 'create message' instruction, left click over and providing you have given the message a title, it will sent to the addresse and waiting for them next time they log-in.
As for being a 'newbe' at a life-time hobby, blame Proboards, our forum host. The system has no clue as to your past experience, but does count every post you make. You climb up the ranks from new member to junior member to full to senior and finally gold with the number of posts made. All rather teenager one-upmanship ish, however the nwan admin team have no input into these ranks - it is the quality of what is in the posts that matters to us, not the number made!
I apologise to those familiar with forum board site operation for this basic 'beginners guide' to PMs, but remind them that they too, once were starters perplexed when faced with wondering just what would happen if they clicked on a particular instruction.
Do have fun poking around some of the older threads, especially those on the 'Nostalgia' section - presume you have found the many pages of posts reflecting on the MSAE/MAS days.
Brian.
