Some of these memories are easier to date than others. For those interested in DC-6 visits to Liverpool, then on
www.nwan.co.uk follow the link for 'Special Projects' then under 'Clssic Airliners' find DC-6, DC-7 and Caravelle and under 'Soviet Built' all IL-14, IL-18, Tu-134, Tu-154, Tu-204, IL-76, An-24, AN-26, Il-62 that have visited Liverpool.

Not a bad 24 hours. Also at some stage during the day 'Newpin 32' a HS.125 on overshoot. My own spotters log just records the Hiller and Caravelle, recorded as departing 1315.
A few days later,

Delta Air Transport's Dakota OO-AUX arrived on Friday 1st May 1970, leaving on Sunday 3rd. Three very busy days. See also next post.

In addition to the Viscount my own log shows resident Vagabond G-AWOF as being seen and Apollo 15 lift-off 1434BST (not seen!). Don't spot another visit for 'PX later in the year, and it did not appear in 1972 or 1973.
Between January and September 1970 DC-6s D-ABAY, D-ABAZ and PH-MAM were quite frequent visitors.
Although Air Spain's Britannia EC-BFL certainly visited in 1970 and 1971, I can find no reference of a visit from early June to end of September 1970.
Hope this helps you, and brings a taste of early 70's at Liverpool for others.
