R.I.P to a great Actor and the best "baddie" on screen with his distinct voice in my opinion. Sadly passed away to cancer aged 69, eerily the same happened to another British icon David Bowie at the same age earlier this week. Two greats who will be missed.

Personally his best part was the bad guy "Hans Gruber" in one of my favourite films Die Hard.

Agreed. In fact I heard that Die Hard was his first movie and if this was the case, what a way to be remembered.
As for harry Potter series, I think he made the show as much if not more than the main characters. There will be millions who will never remember Alan Rickman, but they will always remember Snape.

Die Hard was his first break into films at the age of 41, I will watch it tonight...classic film.
