Hello folks Spent Monday afternoon on a very cold Cumbrian fell side just South of Tebay services overlooking the M6. Inspite of a few snow showers later in the afternoon the light was good. The lads from Linton were quite abundant with dual and solo low level navex's. The only jet was a 100 Squadron Hawk. ZF135 ZF145 ZF287 ZF349 ZF417 XX318 Sadly no 'Grey pointy things' (Harrier, Tornado and Typhoon) put an appearance in. I personally think one of the best sights in aviation is a GR4 at low level and is probably my biggest motivator for me to keep going back up the Cumbrian hills. Cheers Shaun

How often is the M6 Pass used for low flying as I fancy going there in the Summer when I am based In the Lake District

Hello 'Cityflyer'
If you have a spare half day its certainly worth a look, but beware that you may not see anything at all. The main traffic that uses the M6 Pass is 1 FTS Tucano from Linton and 100 Squadron Hawks from Leeming, but you could quite litteraly see anything ...i have even seen the Red Arrows through there low level. The other favourite valley in the Lakes (and probably bussier than the M6) is Thirlmere, but again its still pot luck what you see (if anything).
Good luck
Shaun
