I also have wondered how the cables went in I assumed it was one long one and the tower was simply the centre point, your pictures solve the question. Wonder what happens if they measure wrongly and its too long or too short!! Not easy to just trim a bit off.

Made enquiries at the Show in the Catalyst Museum in West Back as to the installation of the Cables. It seems the cables when installed are a bit short and each cable differs. On fitting to the Towers and platforms they are tensioned by an hydraulic system to take the weight of the span. On checking the notes in the show the total weight the cables are capable of holding is 53.000 tons far more than is needed. Hope this helps. Peter
