Should these posts not be under airport and terminal developments thread? I did not put it in Terminal Developments as it is not a development as such just plans

Would think its a big enough topic to require its own thread.

Would think its a big enough topic to require its own thread. I have no doubt, if Beamer or Viscount think it would be better moved they will do so

I personally think it should be in the Terminal/Airport Developments section but it is up to my fellow Administrator to agree or not with me. Regards Beemer.

It's going to run for years, so why not have it here as it is.

It will run for years and, in my opinion, it will amount to nothing.

That's an awful lot of years you could be writing off, what odds are you offering, surely not another one of your safe bets?

Surprised how little comment there has been since this news broke. In fact more on where the topic should be on here than actual discussion about what should be a major talking point.
Well i think the whole plan is a waste of effort. Hardly anything of the last master plan was achieved and it seems this next master p!an is a series of aspirations that will never be achieved either.
More car parking is probably the only thing that will ever happen.
I notice the one sop to the enthusiasts, in the last great plan, a viewing area, has now vanished.

I read that it won't be fully released until Monday.
Masterplans are a necessity for city planners and is requirement whether it's needed/liked or not.
It seems to me more people on here are only concerned with registrations and if they if the can get free parking outside the terminal.

I am an optimistic person, but this master plan they only want to grow to 11 million passenger per year from 5 now in 30 plus years. I wouldn't be surprised if by 2050 Manchester is carrying about 50 plus.
I believe Their expansion plan is happening fairly soon isn't it?
Will our airport get a runway extension, I don't know why I just can't see it happening.
Be nice if the airport terminal after security was spruced up especially the boarding gate areas, lets hope proper boarding gates with seating. Wonder will we have airbridges by 2050, god it's so far into the future it's hard to believe.

If people are concerned / disappointed/ supportive/ whatever about the Masterplan, perhaps they might actually get out from behind their keyboards and get down to one of the consultation drop in sessions that the airport has organised.

Regarding passenger numbers our airport has recouped back one million passengers since 2014 going from 3.98 to around 4.8 last year maybe by 2020 we will have broke the 6 million mark.
