I notice the one sop to the enthusiasts, in the last great plan, a viewing area, has now vanished. Viewing area noted a few times in the doc, for example:

Was anything from the previous master plan made into reality? .......... exactly, how long have we waited for an upgraded ILS system and associated runway end sterile area ? Can I have some of whatever they are smoking LoL CAT III is being held up by a lack of action by Scottish Power, so much so that its has been raised at the highest levels.

Scanned the document. Couldn't see it was much different from the old plan, on page 10 it quotes maintanence on EasyJet B737's. A case of copy and paste. You could argue with some of the assumptions /predictions but it's only someone's opinions. The thing that appears to be missing is a timetable for investment. Never mind where the money is coming from.

I attempted to submit the online simple feedback form but after my time and diligence completing it, it would not go through. Anyone else had problems?

I presume it is less expensive to buy up, and flatten half of Hale Village, rather than reclaim land and extend the runway in a Westerly direction into the River Mersey ? ?

Have you noticed that the headline extension is 314m but the plan also shows a 150m start-up area at either end. That makes quite a difference.

I presume the later would not involve re-siting the 09 approach lighting gantry ? ?

Regarding the point made above by Airbus A346 regarding extending into the river:
The cost issue might well be important but it is actually irrelevant unless the Airport Company wish to challenge a number of long-standing UK, European and International conventions related to conservation of the natural habitat. Site of Special Scientific Interest, RAMSAR etc...... These points also the same as would have prevented a Mersey Crossing being an extension of the Knowsley Expressway.

It would have to be one hell of an extension to need to buy up any of Hale Village! The airport / Peel already own the land required anyway.

Properties start in Bailey's Lane - will the extension include a RESA (runway end sterile area) and repositioning of approach lights ? The field to the East of Dungeon Lane is not exactly huge.

Thank you - I suspected that was the issue against it.
