With the recent visit of a DC8 at Manchester and another due soon I thought I'd look EI-CGO up to see how she was doing. Many of us will remember her frequent visits to Liverpool. I for one will never forget how quiet the pilots managed to get her when she came over head Huyton on the way in for 27 or the thunderous noise you could here for miles around as she took off again. What a superb sight she was and always looked immaculate. How sad it was to find this shot of her taken last year at Lagos - Nigeria. Don't look if you want to remember her as she was. www.airliners.net/photo/Untitled-(CargoPlus-Aviation)/McDonnell-Douglas-DC-8-63(F)/1477730/L/&sid=2dfb80571fdebbd90e841b8679463906

There are photos of EI-CGO in happier days, at Liverpool, on this forum - 'EGGP History and Memories Section', a thread on 'Douglas DC-8s visits to Liverpool' that may by now be back on page 2.
There are two nice b&w photos of DC-8s at the old terminal, Liverpool inside the back cover of the latest FoLA '09/27' quarterly no.112. (Martinair and Air Canada).
