As a result they lost the right to fly on the flight to Islamabad from Manchester. How brilliant was this, they are the first two passengers to refuse a body scan, one for religious reasons and one on medical grounds Giving up two tickets worth around £800 must have been worth it for them. may or may not be true but they were allowed to leave the airport with their luggage after this incident. I hope not until a thorough investigation had been made. Now look more idiots have come out of the woodwork to offer support for these women. www.bigbrotherwatch.org.uk/

I am just waiting for some crackpot judge to rule this precedure out. After all, the masses have no rights greater than those of an individual. Isn't that correct?

As usual islam pushes the boundaries. If it meets resistance it stops and waits--where there is no resistance it advances never to retreat. Come back El Cid all is forgiven.

........ and what about MY human rights? I have as much right to be able to travel in the knowledge that everything has been done to ensure that my journey is safe as others who just think they are being oppressed. If they feel THAT oppressed then they should take the first available BOAT to the land of their choice where they are likely to be assaulted/maimed/killed by just those people who don't want to go through body scanners. Experience has taught us that these measures are now necessary and scanners are only being brought in because of the behaviour of nut cases who want to smash western society. These women should be thankful that they benefit from the vigilance of our border authorities.

I have, since posting this, wondered if their refusal to be scanned could be connected to the kidnapped child who was visiting family in Pakistan ? I do sometimes work laterallly.

I sense a lot of xenophobia on this forum, now don't get me wrong, I have no sympathy for anyone who refuses a body scan, and quite rightly they should be banned from flying, whatever their, religion, colour or beliefs. But I'm failing to see any reasoning behind Biggles' statement, apart from the obvious.

Xenophobia? Preferable to cringing appeasement. Body scans would have prevented at l;east one terrorist escaping by posing at a woman and thus previously above normal rules.Allegedly.

If I was booked on the same flight as the two refusees, I would like to have known about it. The two may be quite innocent of any planned attack: but maybe not; and since these people work in groups, who is to say that accomplices were not already through the net. It is also disturbing that the two were allowed to leave the airport with luggage. Innocent until proven guilty, but reason to suspect could have been used for a check on the contents of those bags.
We can expect more of this in the next few weeks because with an election just around the corner, the usual "laiser faire" attitude to these matters is temporarily on hold. For the next few weeks at least we can expect the interests of the citizens and taxpayers to be taken into account.

"But I'm failing to see any reasoning behind Biggles' statement, apart from the obvious."
Perhaps you could clarify this statement either in the open forum or via PM asap !

The clue is in the first sentence. It begins with X and ends in A. If you don't understand it then look it up in a dictionary. Theres a certain element on this forum who take great delight in bombarding us with stories about Immigrants, muslims and Asians. Its like reading a BNP manifesto. Gentlemen, its boring.

;D Sorry if reality is disturbing--head back in the sand then eh?
A morbid dislike of foreigners is not evident on the forum
--if YOU can be bothered to check your dictionary-for a definition of Xenophobia-
-but there is a considerable amount of alarm at the way our culture, our country and our way of life is under constant threat with only apologists and quizling appeasers seemingly having access to the airwaves and mass media.
Free speech ,which has to be defended, may not suit some people but if we allow ourselves to be silenced by the chattering pc classes we are all done for.
As for BNP manifestos--read one then come back --I could be bothered to find out the truth behind the hype and bringing our troops home immediately from Iraq and Afghaniastan seems a vote catcher for me.
The BNP are a legitimate ELECTED party in the European Parliament strange thing democracy.LOL
And no I am not a BNP party spokesman just an open minded British citizen--with my head out of the sand.(Allegedly LOL)

Cloudwarrior, should be Headintheclouds probably, but anyway, I do not understand alphabetty speghetti language and yes I fully understand the meaning of the big word you can`t spell and do not fully understand, I am not scared of foreigners or strangers, what I am concerned with is ANY PERSON no matter what colour or ethnic origin and that includes English, Irish etc who wishes to destroy Britain and or its population by whatever means and that includes terrorist acts obviously. Now if that makes me xenophobic I plead guilty, but I would hope that would cover every other genuine caring human being. I am not into PC clap trap unlike some who seem to want to sit back like an ostrich which only means they will not see anything when their ass gets blown off. Like John I am not a supporter of the BNP nor would I ever be. You said your bored with the topic, my answer is simple keep your head in the sand and don`t respond telling e truth obviously upsets you. The end as far as I am conerned.

How very predictable Biggles, you've just proven my point...again. And you even resorted to name calling, very mature.

;D
Oh dear--I smell an election on the horizon and lines being drawn.
Before long the PC brigade will be arriving to quell any critisism of the excesses and policies of this the most crooked and corrupt government we have ever had.
Don't expect any analysis of the failures and the depths to which we have sunk over the last 10years,of which the necessity of body scans is just an almost insignificant event.
And don't anyone accuse Blair and Brown of being America's poodles.
I expect personal attacks on all we dissidents.LOL
Bring it on.

Carmedic, Only suprise to me and no doubt others is the time it took you to place a comment on this thread even if it was basically just abusive for no apparent reason other that that. In answer to the pointless question of my visiting airports that`s simple, I visit LPJL at least twice a month and last flew an hour in the Tiger Moth pretty recently ;D, which if you read the messages you would have probably noticed
