Having not visited here since the pathway was closed running past the old canal. We decided to visit today to see how it looks.
We could not believe how untidy it was with rubbish seemingly everywhere and bags of dog muck hanging from trees. There was plenty of birdsong to be heard if you listened carefully enough to make it out above the constant drone of traffic noise from the new concrete monstrosity towering over it. Our main surprise was the fact that the pathways are still closed even now and there seems to be no sign of them opening anytime soon. Even the visitors centre is looking disheveled and rundown. Having taken pride in its open the council seems to have forgotten this once lovely little oasis of nature which is a real shame.
I have emailed Halton council asking what their plans are for the place and when the pathways will be opened. I just hope someone replies.
