Is not a more significant issue here that Co-operative Travel is Liverpool Airport's on'line travel 'partner' - try following the link to flights and holidays on the airport's own website. Your complaints should be directed at the travel agency, not the radio station...

BTW LPL, per their website : Radio City is the commercial radio station for Merseyside and North Wales for a broad 15-44 audience with a focus on 25-39’s.It is part of the same media group as Key 103 in Manchester. Highly likely therefore, that Co-op Travel have a deal with the group, to run the same advert on both stations. So what. Just so happens I came across its license and in it states Licensed area - Merseyside (as in Ofcom advertisement) Frequency - 96.7 MHz Service duration - 24 hours Locally-made hours - At least 10 hours a day during daytime weekdays (must include breakfast). At least 4 hours daytime Saturdays and Sundays. Local news bulletins - At least hourly at peaktime weekdays and weekends. Outside peak, UK-wide, nations and international news should feature.

Don`t gold your breath on this complaint, I made a report to the ASA some rime ago concerning a TV advert which is of far more concern than the wording of this ad. So far I have had a reply that they have had other such complaints and it is being looked into, the ad is still running. !

For what it's worth, my opinion is, regardless of where you can receive Radio City, is that their targeted market, and I would say their major market, is the Liverpool City region. In my opinion it is misleading to say that MAN is the local airport.

All advertising should be taken with a pinch of salt. I think most of us are grown up enough to understand that. This infraction is minor when compared to the blatant lies which the major media promote in political reporting and so called news programmes. I am sure that Liverpool Airport does its own advertising which balances out these silly things. If they don't: they should.

The A380,may be flying from Manchester with Emirates from september, but I would ask members of this board to remember that prices will always be less from LHR even with a train journey to London Really? I've just been looking at flights to BKK.... EK ex LHR £622, EK ex MAN £647, KL ex LPL £645 ;D I've not seen any return rail fares to London for £25 return for a looooong time, but good to see KL from LPL are comparable with EK ex MAN - as they say "Use it, or lose it!" K

I`m sure someone will correct me if i am wrong but when Easyjet started flying from Liverpool they were advertising on Manchester Taxis and Buses and bus stops,Ryanair although i would never fly with them advertise in the Manchester Evening News and in the smallest print you have seen say direct from Liverpool-------so what is the difference?

If they ran the speel over prices, then said at the end "flights from Manchester" I wouldnt be bothered, its the use of the word 'local' that I take exception to.

K You can get return rail fares from Liverpool to London for £3.00 RTN, using Virgin trains, available off peak, using the website of a large well known Scottish bus companies ,low cost subsidiary website.I am not joking I have booked them myself you just have to look,so just because you have not seen them does not mean they do not exist,You can not travel at peak times, you have to be a bit flexable.

Do we have to have these vague references to a website? Why not just name them/it so we can all benefit? Please!
