Shortly before a rainy/hail shower arrived this morning at 11.50, the EZY flight G-EZAU from LGW had to do a go-around on 08. Likely reason was not weather but an approaching GA from Yorkshire (G-BILU) which eventually landed on 08, followed by the A319 which was hardly visible on approach due to the surprise hailstorm.

The A319 reported that it had hit a sudden unexpected tailwind on final, due to the extremely heavy raincloud hanging over the airfield at the time. It was still there on its second approach but the pilot, now expecting it, was able to negotiate it successfully. In fairness to GBILU, it had nothing to do with the overshoot !
M-YGIG departed at about 10.00 to Dublin where it is believed it will replace M-YSIX.
Phenom CS-PHC visited as "NJE 2SD" and later 9H-ALL Cessna 525A arrived as "LWG 191"

Thanks for the clarification Marquis, all makes sense given the turbulent Manx climes at that time and explains the sound variations from EZAU over my back yard! Imagine that the pilot of BILU was not overly impressed by the weather as well.
