the bus in arriva livery is just stored there on behalf of merseyside transport trust who bought it from the guys who own Lynx 35 and the south yorkshire national. ezs you may or may not noticed arriva arent using that livery anymore in favour of a darker one which looks better

Nice photos. Most of the major groups are keeping existing regional colours where company's are not fully (100%) owned. Airport by Coach being a recent example of a part owned Arriva company that operated from LJLA. Sadly though more and more are succumbing to the pressures placed upon them by European, National, and now Local Governing bodies implementing the 2008 Transport Act. Hardly a week goes by now that I don't here of another one selling out or entering into administration/receivership.
From an enthusiasts point of view I can see where ezs942 is coming from. Its not much fun traveling to places to take the same photos of the same type of bus, in the same colours, that can be got by staying local. Still we could be in for a complete colour change (not just a removal of the cream from the front and an application of a grey skirt) at Arriva if the Germans takeover. Best not mention the war if they do ;D

If anyone wants to visit the place its easy to find. If you go by train to St Helens, as you come out of the main St Helens Central Station, look to your far right, across the Alfred Pub car park, and you can see the Building.. about 300 yards away.
