Like the buses in the last thread-where in StHelens is the museum? Now back to this thread--went on a visit to the UK by car(endless journey-to think I used to love it.LOL) We went by Nancy to see the city and I got some tram shots. The thing is they seem to only have one rail. Perhaps a tram buff could explain as its beyond me. Hope you enjoy the shots.

I am not surprised. Who the hell would want to go to that end of Sicily?!

Looks like a new version of the trolly bus, only this one is "guided" via the open rail.

Nice pictures, John. I notice these vehicles have number plates so presumably they are buses and not tramway or light railway. I've never been to Nancy, but we met a couple of twin boys (young men) when we were hosting students in UK. We called them "The Nancy Boys". It took a while before their English was good enough to catch on, and unusually for the French they had a good sense of humour.

They are the first trams that are also buses and trolleybuses. As a tram they use the guided rail, as a trolleybus they come away from the rail, and as a bus they use their own on board diesel engine. Sounds great but unfortunately they have not been too successful. Click the link to find out more. www.trams-in-france.net/reload.htm?nancy.htm

Still having computer rpobs. A few shots of Nancy--a cultured city important to the French and the Poles. Sad about the trams --they seemed popular and were usually full. Thanks for the responses. VERY interesting if you remember Rowan and Martin's laugh in(just the elderly members LOL)
