I thought the answer would have been on early pages of this forum, but after a search conclude that the information I need must have been provided the year before on the xsorbit site.
Last year Aintree Radio used 132.9 to control helicopter movements, is the same frequency likely this year, or has it been changed?
As a matter of information, I find on posts made last year by 'Trijet' that 27 helicopters landed at Aintree 1015-1245 in 2009.
As I fancy watching helis this year, rather than the now very few biz-jets and twins that will use LJLA on Saturday morning, my question is: where, if anywhere, is the best place to watch helicopters landing from outside of Aintree Racecourse without being arrested as a monocular & camera wielding peeping tom ? In which part of the racecourse is the helipad located, OS Grid Ref? Directions from Merseyrail Aintree Station would be useful. I know I've asked this before, and got helpful replies, but cannot locate them.
Thank you.

The helipad is in the south east corner of the centre of the course. Google Earth co-ordinates for viewing are 58 28 25 14 N and 2 55 57 63 W - this is the best place to head for and you will see everything that arrives and departs from here.
Arriving by train, I advise using the Kirkby line and getting off at Fazakerley - it's about a ten minute walk from the station and much nearer than Aintree station.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
Alan
