Bournemouth Airport photos

Some photos taken at Bournemouth/Hurn Airport between April and the end of August. I have since moved back to the Isle of Man after being there for approx 7 months. Sadly I missed a good few movements as I often didn't get the chance to get the camera out!

Probably the highlight of my whole 7 month stay was this day.... The Guppy seen with something rather special lurking behind...

1979 built Boeing 747SP VP-BAT had been stored inside out of view for 2 years after being WFU. Although it would sometimes appear for engine runs I always seemed to miss it. Anyway today was the day it left for a new storage facility in Kelowna, Canada. The aircraft previously flew for Pan-am and United before being converted into VIP config for the Royal family of Qatar

Great photos, and best aircraft of all - the raspberry ripple Canberra!

I saw VP-BAT at Dublin in 2006. My database has it has being going/gone to Canada to be converted to an air tanker. If you look on 747SP.com you can see the inside of it and it would be a shame to rip it all out, better than the best hotel. Fabulous.
