Just returned from a trip to Dubai to visit son who lives out there with girlfriend who works in Business Class for Emirates. Sadly no aircraft seen for a week but just a few photos from trip if anyone interested in the sights.
Sp out we went Business Class from Manchester on A380 A6-EUZ. Never at my best when have to get up early to catch a flight however a touch of luxury soon helped.

This is called The Frame and is just seemingly there as tourist attraction and for observation. Normal entrance charge 50Dirhams(£10) but if over 60 its free. One of few benefits of age.

So to "The World", man made islands about 10 mins offshore. Most were bought about 10 years ago but few have been developed. This is one of few with anything on it. This is Lebanon, you can visit for the day for about £80 spend the day there, two people exist there just to serve tourists, there is a bar and small restaurant, When we went we were the only visitors for the day so had the whole island (Lebanon ) to ourselves. Downside, well a bucket of beer so 6 cans of Heineken is 240 Dirhams Thats about £50.

Just near our hotel, as ever the largest Ferris wheel in the world, Ha except its apparently cracked and unsafe. Man made island however. They tried to sell me a one bed apartment here, only half a million pounds.
