no you can't drive up to the dream, only walk as its part of the mersey forest. leave m62 at junc 7 and follow signs for st helens. at the 1st roundabout, turn right through the industrial estate and through a housing estate past a school and you'll come to a T- junction with the old sutton manor colliery gates in front of you. park near here and in the gates and follow the path, trees on the left and m62 on the right, up a small hill and its in front of you.sorry the driving instructions are not brilliant but it was trial and error for me. i just headed in the general direction and fudged my way there. good luck!!

If you are coming from Manchester direction on M62 come off at junction 7 and take first left onto Warrington Road for about 1/2 mile and turn left at lights. Over the M62 (you will see the statue on the right) and park up near the old colliery gates in about 3/4 mile. If you are coming from Liverpool take the turning after the Manchester bound slip road and follow the instructions as above. Superian's instructions will do but you "go all around the houses" to get there. Regards Beemer.

As an addenda to the instructions, if there is no room at the gates to park, about 200 yards further down the road (opposite the garage) is a car park with paths leading to the top. This may be the best alternative. Beemer.

been to see the dream! parked by the texaco garage ,when you get up to it, it seemed to blend in with the overcast weather almost shimering , quite noisey being next to the motorway that constant hissing sound ., and it looks bigger from a distance than when your close up, there is a door at the rear of the base is there a staicase inside ?,is it to be illuminated at night ?

I thought why not take photos from a distance showing the Dream. This is taken from Weston Road, Runcorn and the Dream is in the middle to the left of the bridge. The gasometer over to the left is in Jackson Street, Finger Post, St. Helens.

Yes, it is illuminated at night and stands out much better. However the trees look likely to mask it before long even though it is so high.

Just been revealed that St. Helens Council are to crop some of the trees to make it more visible from the M62. Shame it has to be done but when you spend £2m on something I suppose it would be good if you can see it! ;D
