I don't know how many remember Monty who had a program on Radio Merseyside called Tune Tonic. He was always promoting the airport and its routes by doing flights and interviews on it. Sadly he has passed away at the age of 92 on 7th May. RIP Monty

It was monty who got me really interested in aviation while I helped on the programe and his other things he did for the community, I had my first flight a helicopter at southport beach then fixed wing a pa31 from hawarden to Cardiff and back with Air Wales trips to Liverpool airport to see Concorde and up the control tower ,also some non aviation things like stroking a tiger at Chester zoo, without doing this I probably wouldn't have got my apprenticeship at BAE Chester

How sad. A lovely man. I had the pleasure of meeting him on numerous occasions, including a trip to Enniskillen in a Trislander. I have a lovely photograph saved of a young Monty interviewing four very young men from a beat combo calling themselves The Beatles. He was a great supporter of Liverpool Airport alongside the fantastic members of the Friends of Liverpool Airport. I know he will be missed by many, including me.
