It will be interesting to see what happens with these routes. In an area with more sheep than people, it's difficult to imagine where their customer base is. The Lake District is of course well-known in the UK, but I seem to remember seeing figures some years ago which suggested that most people who visit the Lake District are already in the northern part of the UK. Campers and hill-walkers would no doubt have to pay a hefty premium for baggage, as is the custom these days. One BBC article was suggesting that it would be useful for BAe Systems at Barrow, conveniently forgetting that they have their own transport and an airport at Walney Island. Apart from that, I can't imagine anyone wanting to visit Barrow, the road to which, when I used to visit it was known when I used to visit it regularly as the world's longest cul-de-sac. Full marks to them for trying, perhaps based on the success of SEN, but they are two very different areas.

Should have said in my earlier post,Saab340 G-LGNC op's the first London Southend flight,both a/c were parked on the new ramp together,along with N458TB Gulfstream 150 Cheers Wino
