Luton airport will soon introduce a £1 fee for dropping off passengers. The drop off area will be controlled by a barrier demanding cash payment, It is claimed that paying the fee will enhance the user's experience. No doubt this trend will be followed by others, and as always the fee, once accepted as a fact of life, will increase RT

I also heard that if you want to put liquids in your hand luggage at Luton now that you are now no longer allowed to use your own clear plastic bad and will only be allowed through security if you but one from the Airport. Truly scandelous.

This happened to me at Dusseldorf. I have been using the same type of plastic bags since we have been required to do so but some over zealous young female security woman at Dusseldorf said it was too large. I said I have used these bags all over Europe but I still had to buy a pack of theirs from a nearby dispenser. I helped myself to a handful while in Dublin recently so I am OK for the forseeable future. Regards Beemer.
