Woodgate aviation PA 31 G-LIDE fro IOM appears to have carried out a missed approach. FR24 Although FR24 seems to be a bit off track today. Runway 09. Seems to be a bit of a cross wind but only 12 knots. Now heading south east away from Lpl.....FR 24 is playing up now showing aircraft over city. Done another missed approach. Now appears to be returning to IOM

Thanks for that but no disrespect, this is a new season. Wasn't the E190 switched to a Dash 8 for a good part of their last season. Season seems a bit wrong as they span summer and winter.

Nice to see Wideroe using the ERJ.

Without doubt, especially as season for North Sea winter storms approach, the ERJ is the right aeroplane for the route. It would appear that Wideroe (certainly until the end of October timetable change-over) can operate either the Dash 8 or ERJ on the route. As we know that there are a great number of LFC (and other NW Clubs too) fans in Southern Norway there will be weekends when demand is strong and others when demand is weaker.
Being the second season the availability of the route is now established, for both short city breaks and football match weekends. Short city breaks are a two way thing - it needs specialist tour operators putting together high quality, but reasonably priced packages along the DIY/Internet packages traveller - both in the UK and Norway to get a good strong customer base for the weekends when there are not football fans about.
The fact that Wideroe are back for a second long season (there was only around a 10 week summer break) and have announced plans to go to three times weekly from the current twice weekly only serves to suggest they were pleased with their launch season, winter 2018/19 which was only announced with a few weeks notice in '18. As the winter months progress it will be interesting to see by how much passenger loads have grown on the route this year, using the figures abstracted by '8miles27' from the CAA Monthly Stats.

Interesting they put on the larger aircraft when there isn't football.

From memory I think the Dash 8 was used from Jan this year for a period.
