It seems one of the last Concordes in fact the one hidden on LHR near BA Engineering is under offer from Dubai to be shipped out and placed on one of the palms. not far from QE2. Not much will be left in UK son that is actually still or remaing British is there. Banks, Airports, Car Manufacturers, Expensive Private Homes, London, huge swathes of urban business land and businesses have gone. The list is endless.

Don`t think the credit crunch has arrived yet in Dubai. I guess the QE2 will need some work doing before its a hotel.

having been recently and also have family who live in qatar and are in and out of dubai a couple of times a week, the credit crunch has certainly hit dubai. nearly 75% of all the migrant workers have been sent home and the only major work in progress is the monorail which runs the length of the coast and onto the palm jumeirah. even work on the worlds tallest builing, the burj dubai, has only a maintanence crew on it. both of these projects are funded by sheikh mahktoum's company called nahkeel. (which is goverment owned). most of the private money has been withdrawn until the "rainy days" are over and "the sun" shines again.

Assuming it does get sold to Dubai,it would be interesting to see how they intend to get it out there,is everyone thinking what I am thinking!.after all they did get the Vulcan back into the air.

No, it was written in the report that the wings would be clipped, so I am guessing it will be either shipped by sea or maybe even airfreighted (if possible) out if it goes at all.

The Concorde G-BOAD that is at the USS Intrepid sea-air-space museum in New York City, was it already in the U.S. or was it flown back or shipped from the U.K. ?

Migrant workers sent home? Why were they not given council houses and free everything and allowed to bring in their families at the host population's expense? I am surprised there has not been a world outcry and a demand for Sharia law to safeguard their interests. Or perhaps I am just living in a nightmare engendered by nasty spin doctors at No.10. Sack the lot. Roll on the election.
