Thanks , I sussed it’s shankly , sports style thin seats, no quarter lights, inset separate dials and three spoke steering wheel. I first thought Alfa as I think their steering wheels were like that. But now thinking did sponsorship of clubs/managers exist then??? So perhaps more ford or Vauxhall

Congrats Bulldog. I became an Uncle on the 11th myself after my sister had her first child with her partner

Took me a good while to get this one. I too thought it may be an Alfa or Lancia. Mr Shankly had a couple of Ford Carpis, I seen him when I was a kid at Melwood a few times in the summer hols. He must have splashed out a bit and treated himself with this car in 1975. It is a 1975 Toyota Celica 2000GT or 2000ST. There was one for sale quite recently on ebay for £47,000 www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-CELICA-RA25-GT2000-SERIES-1-1975-2-0-39K-1-OWNER-/113979291600?Toyotas were very expensive back then due to import taxes and this one would have been far more than even a top end Ford Capri 3000. Congratulations again Clive.

The Bill Shankly car photo was taken outside his then home in Bellefield Avenue, West Derby. Had he lived in one of the houses in the background on the opposite side he would have been able, from his back bedroom window, to watch Everton FC training on their old Bellefield ground, long before it became a housing development! Instead, Shanks backed on to the old Knotty Ash to West Derby railway line.
