Wallasey corporation transport was credited as having the first Leyland Atlantean PDR 1/1 in public service, FHF 451 shown in the photo was first registered in December 1958. The yellow colour is officially know as Sea Green !

Where some of these once stored at Hooton Park? I'm fairly sure that I saw FHF451 and B926KWM there about ten years ago. Only remember as someone commented about first and last Atlantean. Unfortunately I don't remember the context of the first and last and having never really 'looked' at a bus in my life they appeared to be different.

The Buses seem to be moved around to and from place to place with different types for storage.

The owners of the 2 vehicles also own 3 other vehicles so move them round to the 2 storage locations they use one of which is Hooton.

Nice thread. Nice Pics. Thanks. Fond memories of getting off the Seacombe Ferry and hopping on the yellow for Moreton or Hoylake. In those days, the buses were not the Atlantean type. They were the type where the conductor hung out on the open step at the rear, and where if you were just a few seconds late you could run and jump on.
