Lovely picture cityflyer. It's easy to see which of the locomotives was doing the work there! Where was it taken?

Takes me back, sometimes when you see pictures of old steam loco's you can close your eyes for a while and drift into the past some 50 years and smell the steam and oil of Edge Hill sheds on a Sunday morning. Also waiting in Garston for the English Rose to go by each night into Lime Street. You can't take memories like that away from me. Happy Days Bob

Great atmospheric shots, and if I am not mistaken they are two black 5's in the shot on the Stranraer line. Always had a love for steam and railways in general, my late Dad giving me that and as a kid (I was born within 50 yards of the main Liverpool-Manchester line in Childwall Lane) as he took me out most Sundays in the final days of steam. I was also there in 1968 at Broadgreen when the last 2 Black 5's steamed out of Liverpool on the last scheduled passenger steam train in BR days. Still brings a lump to my throat watching steam now, and as I live within 20 mins of the Severn Valley Railway I am glad to say I still see it often. Keep the faith!
