I know that there are a lot of steam buffs on this site, and as some of you know, I'm currently running aircraft photos from Latin America on another thread, but I thought you might enjoy this one. It was taken in Asuncion, Paraguay in the mid 1980s. The wood-fired locomotive was built in Hunslet, and used to travel to the Argentine border at Concepcion twice a week. I managed to arrange to be around for its return to Asuncion, and here it is. I promise you that this photo has not been re-touched!
