Went for the weekend to Gloucester to basically meet some friends from Southampton to discuss a US trip we are going on in 2011.
Well as the girls were going to have a look around the shop and as there was a possibility I may lose the will to live, the missus gave me a pass out to visit a few airfields in the area of our hotel:- Here goes:-
STAVERTON
Spent about an hour here examining the nooks and crannies of the airfield and got a half decent log of 52 including:-

Plus a load of others not yet checked- Also examined the stored airframes of the Gloucester Aircrft preservation Group 2 x Meteor and a Vulcan f/f which are located at the rear of the caravan showroom to the right of the airfield these frames can be seen from the viewing area as well.

NYMPSFIELD
Home of the Bristol Gliding Group- Full access given after filling out form with safety instructions for the airfield, where to walk etc.
Lots of gliders here but also lots locked away in their boxes.

G-OCLC- Aviat Husky ;D This is in the maintanence hangar on the right as you drive into the airfield. Together with an unidentified Cassutt ?

Good haul have not checked the gliders but I expect to need the majority.

Full access given by the airfield manager all hangars checked apart from the new one which remained locked

Just visited really to see the stored airframes which I needed, the place is like Fort Knox now, but I was able to log quite a bit from the Parking layby and from the fence at the far end of the airfield

Quite a few light logged as well

Returned and spent an hour before returning to the hotel logged

Returned to the hotel before the wife and our friends returned and had a few beers.
All told logged about 150 for the day not checked fully what I copped but not a bad day.
