It's been quite a while since I last visited here.Fortunately, the roadworks on this section of the M62 have finished now.The paths are well maintained for walking, but the wilder nature areas look neglected somewhat, especially the moss area in front of where the tower hide once stood....a big change from visits over 40 years ago! I had hoped to see some dragonflies, but not one was seen! I stopped for a while at the woodland hide. Most of the birds looked rather scruffy, probably being some of this years youngsters: Great Spotted Woodpecker by Philip Gaulton, on Flickr Nuthatch by Philip Gaulton, on Flickr Nuthatch by Philip Gaulton, on Flickr Nuthatch by Philip Gaulton, on Flickr Bullfinch by Philip Gaulton, on Flickr I always feel rather guilty taking pictures of these alien pests: Grey Squirrel by Philip Gaulton, on Flickr I spent a while looking across the moss for birds of prey.A Hobby was flying around at great height, looking for something to eat(Dragonflies). I managed a few record shots: Hobby by Philip Gaulton, on Flickr Hobby by Philip Gaulton, on Flickr Hobby by Philip Gaulton, on Flickr Phil
